From northern Italy, we have met many years ago, made a move to London and we are now running a small Italian trattoria serving traditional cuisine using authentic ingredients and ways we learned growing up.

La Bottega di Anna, London

The Beginning

2015

We opened our first place in 2015 in Dollis Hill. Back then La Bottega di Anna was merely a hole in the wall. We served coffee and selection of sandwiches and pastry. The place also sold high-quality Italian products ranging from charcuterie to goods such as biscuits or flour.

Soon enough we made a move to Walm Lane, Willesden Green opening within larger premises. In Walm lane we could significantly expand, making La Bottega first into a popular cafe, then to a trattoria and later we started making pizza.

During the 2022 we refurbished our Walm Lane premises and changed our name to “A Casa di Anna”, witch means “Anna’s home”.

We then decided to move to Bedford to be part of this beautiful Town community…. Castle Road is where we are happily located now!

Head Chef

Stefano ‘Gigio’

2019 - today

I was born to a family of food lovers. My grandmother had the most notable influence on me and my cooking. She is in everything I created until today. She taught me the craft and passed on the true love of food.

When La Bottega was moving towards cooking, I took charge of the menu and created something special. All of my recipes have 70 years in making. I like to add in my creations, but the menu continues to stick to the tested ways of Italian cooking. The wild boar ragù is a shining example of that.

I enjoy simple food but tasty. No wonder the sandwich called ‘Gigio’ consist of only two ingredients. For me, food is about home and tradition.

2016 - today

I grew up watching my mum baking, and as of today I share my sweet childhood through flours, fruits and sugars.

I started baking the minute La Bottega opened in Walm Lane. The cakes I bake often disappear in a matter of minutes and that is, for either a cook or a baker as myself, the best feeling of all. They became so popular people started asking for custom birthday cakes.

A casa di Anna made baking seasonal too, with Christmas, Autumn and Valentine’s Day menu always consisting of a special dessert. Our Tiramisu, is notorious.
